Alongside the North Ocean Hotel, many of Blackpool’s main attractions are open all year round. Others close for maintenance or for the winter. If you’re planning a holiday in Blackpool this year, you’re going to want to know what is open and when. That’s what this post is all about.
Most importantly, the North Ocean Hotel is open all year, so anytime is a good time to stay with us! If you’re interested in what you can do while you’re here, read on.
Blackpool beaches are obviously open throughout the year but get busiest between June and August. Some of the best beach walks we have had have been in spring or autumn though. The sand and sea take on a completely different character in these seasons and we love it!
You can walk down each of the Blackpool piers throughout the year but many parts close down over winter. The main season for the piers is between March and November, so if you want the full experience, they are the best times to visit.
Sandcastle Waterpark is mainly open weekends during the off season, with the Easter weekend being the beginning of the main season. Throughout the summer months, it is full of events and things to do. Opening times are here.
Blackpool Tower is also only open weekends through the off season. It opens earlier though, beginning mid-February. It does close Mondays and Fridays between February and March though so check before booking.
Blackpool Zoo is open all year round, in fact, it is open every day except Christmas Day. There are times when there isn’t much to see, so it’s worth planning in advance and talking to the zoo before booking. Spring and summer is obviously the best time to visit. Opening times are here.
Sealife Blackpool is also open all year round, only closing on Christmas Day. As an indoor attraction, it’s a great option for if the weather isn’t great outside. Open 7 days a week from 10am until 4pm. Check here.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is closed for much of the off season, but is open Easter weekend and most dates onwards. Some attractions like the Big Dipper are weather dependent, so plan accordingly. Check out opening times here.
As we near the Easter holidays, Blackpool is waking up from its slumber. While many attractions are open year-round, it isn’t until Easter that everything is open for business. It’s also the time when the energy and enthusiasm for our seaside resort reaches its peak and the time we love the most!
